(2.1a) Copying your settings from backup to fresh installation -------------------------------------------------------------- If you install TomeNET freshly and want to copy over your settings from an older TomeNET installation you kept in a backup location, here are the relevant files you might want to copy over into the new TomeNET folders. Note that the exact folders may depend on your Windows version and how you customized them on installation. What IS defininitly relevant are the actual file names at the end. So if a folder path turns out wrong, just search for the actual file to locate it. - Your window setup (locations, size), fonts and graphics settings: WINDOWS OS: File: TomeNET.ini Example path: C:\Program Files (x86)\TomeNET POSIX (Linux, Mac): File: .tomenetrc Example path: In your home folder. - Your macros: Files: *.prf (ie all files ending on ".prf") - Your option settings (ie settings in the = menu): Files: *.opt - Your auto-inscription files if you created any (& menu): Files: *.ins - Your reincarnation info (not really important though): Files: *.dna WINDOWS OS: Example path: C:\Users\yourusername\TomeNET-user POSIX: Example path: tomenet/lib/user In general, that 'TomeNET-user' folder (Windows OS only) or 'tomenet/lib/user' folder (POSIX systems only) listed above contains all your personal stuff asides from just macros, options, inscriptions and reincarnations, which is... - screenshots: *.xhtml files for text-based screenshots, readable in web browers *.png files for screenshots as real images - character dumps (death dumps / victory dumps / manual dumps): *.txt files - chat logs: *.txt files - logs of private notes you received: notes-*.txt files
