It would be nice to have place where community could post contributions for the project. For example:
- To write rumours for the tavern
- Add monster description (and even may be propose type of monster)
- Add new items and descriptions for the old ones
- other texts and stories for the game
Of course, I think it would be <5% of such contributions would be added to the game actually, it has to be awesome texts. But still may be it would be useful...
Another good thing - to "open" tiles project. Personally I like tiles from NetHack:
I dont know about copyright, but may be its ok to use them as 'unofficial' title pack (we would have to add a lot of TomeNet's titles though - like trees). Anyway, I'm really enjoying to play TomeNet without any tiles, but some people asking about them... And there is also a graphical font version of TomeNet tiles in development ( http://www.tomenet.eu/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=682 ), so may be its nice to try to contribute to it with whole community?
So it would be fun to have a list or something about.... how and where community could help TomeNet

I'm not sure when or why the tile system was broken in MAngband/TomeNet, but if it's fixed I'm sure you can use one of the regular Angband tilesets for the game. That's what I did for my variant PWMAngband, and the UT32 tileset, or even better, the Shockbolt tileset, would be perfect. I am happy to get you the graphic font system working that I played about with (using .fon) I never actually fixed the tile-based system (.png) although I identified that there is still a window slot to display the mini map. I also showed that the mini map could easily be set to your own font that displayed graphics and that the mini-map can be reinstated by writing a single 20-or-so line function.
I would love to contribute more to TOMENet, but I need my work to be adopted before I can really go much further. I am not really interested in creating unofficial mods for a game where I will be the only user and where I have my own personal server. I would also love to create lots of new monsters etc. etc. I have written the first half of a quest using the new quest framework. Ultimately, I am loyal to the official version of TOMENet. They have done a great job and have put in a lot more time than I intend to.
I can set you up creating graphics.

I would like to see the mini-map window functional.
Perhaps I could work with you to include an = option to toggle between the "M" map and main window display?
Also, glad to hear that someone is exploring the quest framework...
Edit: Hm, or maybe it should toggle automatically when the main window is hidden, as in shops, etc? ^^

It would be awesome if there would be some more steps into graphics. I'm sure, our community could workout new titles. Its very essential work to make TomeNet even more fun for new players

I've tried some programs to modify TomeNets font:

Main idea is to change font for main windows.. But it has TWO parts: right is character attribures and left is actually "game". So when you change this font ( 16X24X.FON ) - all two parts changing. Example of Lightman font:

You can't. Game uses plain text for anything, so if you modify a character, it's changed everywhere.

Is it possible to rearrange some stuff to different symbols? Right now bushes and snowflakes is the same... And the most crucial thing right now is to separate pits and mountains. I've still confusing them Also Ancient Dragons and mature onces... it would be fun to have some new symbols. In the font there are a lot of empty symbols to use them.. It seems TomeNet using ~50% of possible symbols. We could add a lot of stuff.
