I'm dummy in Linux :) But it seems playing TomeNet via Linux is better experience - no Alt problem, not borders to windows & etc.

But I got trouble while followed guide:
Linux (using pre-compiled client):
----------------------------------
Make sure that ncurses and crypt libraries are installed, package names are
usually libncurses5 and libgcrypt11.
Enter the 'tomenet/' folder and type:
./tomenet
to start the game.
Thats it. The shortest guide ever

I got such message:

Please help :?

p.s.
Its funny that instruction for Windows installation in game guide is 5 times larger then for Linux ;) I doubt that anyone got trobule with install for Windows ever

Could you do a "ls -la" instead of just "ls" please? Also do a "pwd" please.

I did some testing with Ubuntu 15.10. I encountered the same problem when I tried to run the 32-bit Linux client in a 64-bit Ubuntu installation. Apparently 64-bit versions of Ubuntu don't support 32-bit binaries anymore by default. So try downloading the 64-bit Linux client (we call it amd64).

you will be suprised how many people have problem with archive file on windows, if it isn't zip xD
the best instruction for linux is on mikaelh site, you have what packages you need on system, how to install them, and how compile the client
i always compile tomenet client on linux.

For the record, Linux uses the PCF format for bitmap font files. So you would need to convert your custom font somehow. I'm not sure how to solve your resolution problem.

I use last version of Ubuntu. But its works VERY slow, especially when I run TomeNet. Configuration and resources of VBox is the same as for Windows 7 (1024 RAM, 24 video), but Windows run super fast and Linux is like snail.. Any suggestions?

Its so slow that its just impossible to play at all..

------------------

Fixed it with adding to Ubuntu VBox another 1024 RAM and raising video to 128mb.

So Ubuntu definitelly works slower then Windows 7 (at VBox, may be at normap PC it would change?).

Resources comparisson for comfort playing:
.......Ubuntu / Window 7
RAM: 2048mb/ 1024
video: 128mb/ 24mb

SHOCK  Its seems Ubuntu isn't good choice for a Linux for a VBox. Any suggestions?
