TomeNET guide... on paper?

Post by tangar »

Damm I wanna get paper version of TomeNET guide. I love to read from paper.. And also have a list with all monsters from ~7 (and maybe true arts? hm.. or better do not spoil them).. And to make illustrations for each monster :P

I think I'll even make a birthday present for myself and give an order to special company to print hardcopy of it :D The only problem - to create get list of monsters with all their properties - http://muuttuja.org/tomenet/monsters/index.php would be very useful for it.. btw, let's me make a suggestion :D

Guys, did you ever printed it? Or you read it at screens? Please participate in poll 8-)

i was to lazy to order them around
so every third char is in order by increasing id…, too bad there are three groups :D

Yep, I see :D but it would be fun to have a proper order for publishing it in paper :P

Somewhat improved monster list book, included joke monster, sorted by lvl:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fjz4wshob73id ... w.pdf?dl=0

Without TOC at beginning https://www.dropbox.com/s/o7c0elxpfh5az ... 2.pdf?dl=0

excel file with order of monsters in pdf:
first column is number at which monster appeared in Mikaelh site, readed by row, started at 0, so Player is 0, then Rat king is 1, and Minotaur is 2…
https://www.dropbox.com/s/76y9ivf5ywj5l ... e.xls?dl=0

PS. If you want i can sort it in other way… i could in theory sort it based on id or symbols too… Please only specify, by what value you prefer… for example, by lvl, and if it's the same by name or id next…

used HTTrack, pandas, Beautiful Soup and calibre…

Great! :D Thank you very much! :)

Without TOC it looks better for print..

Considering sorting - is it possible to make such sorting:
1) sorty by letters, like 'AaBbCc....'
2) then sort this letters by lvls

EX:
for A:
http://muuttuja.org/tomenet/monsters/in ... mit=Search
sorted by lvl.

It would make more sense for the book imho; would be easier to compare different types of monsters. So reader could read about different types of monsters in certain order, to become acquainted with whole 'families' of them

====
maybe we could even enhance this book with pictures.. Just take illustrations from the web and add them to certain monsters. Right now there are some empty space at each page, would be fun to add picture and leave small space for reader notes (to mark especially danger monsters & etc). To create such illustrations - please could you post this monster list to google docs https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/ (pdf is not editable), then it would be possible for TomeNET community to assign there pictures with 'open-source' approach (so everyone could contribute pictures there).

Also we need to think about monster updates... If we would put pictures manually at current version of the monster book, the only way would be to update book manually. To do so we would need something like this: https://bitbucket.org/Tokariew/tomenet- ... ommits/all for r_info.txt
