True artifact resets happen every 3 months on the main totem.ielf.org server. The reset days are 1st of January, 1st of April, 1st of July and 1st of October every year. Warning messages will also start appearing in the game one week before the reset happens.

True artifact resets happen only every 6 months on the RPG server. The days are 1st of January and 1st of July.

Also, characters will automatically receive the full value of artifacts that get stripped off them in gold, same amount as given in a_info.txt.
So there's no need to hurry and sell all your arts before the reset actually.

After the upcoming artifact reset on April 1st will have happened, a new anti-hoarding system for true artifacts will replace this current static 3-months schedule:

Artifacts will last for 4 weeks after they have been found (ie dropped by a monster/chest/just being generated on the dungeon floor, and picked up by a player), after which they will "time out" and disappear. No compensation is given if that happens, since that would encourage hoarding, so sell your artifacts in time.
Trading artifacts between characters has no effect on the timeout.
To check the timeout of an artifact, inspect it ('I' to inspect).
For your character to 100% "know" if an artifact is a true artifact or not it needs to *Identify* the item. So this will be required to see the timer on it.
The timer will also continue to run out while the owner of an artifact is offline.

Grond and Morgoth's crown do not time out. Artifacts that can only be found by winners have triple timeout delay (12 weeks). All artifact timeout delays are further doubled on the Ironman server (8 weeks for regular true artifacts, 24 weeks for winners-only true artifacts).

(Random artifacts have nothing to do with this and are never reset, as usual.)
