Re: Client updates

The Windows Test Client (and github of course) were just updated with a fix for asian input methods (IME) which should fix japanese/chinese/korean keyboard recognition, thanks to ASCIIPhilia.

Re: Example of newly added inscriptions (4.9.2)

One more thing, although these inscriptions are not new, but maybe it's a good place to write this here anyway - the concept of effective throwing weapons is kinda new: On low level rogues that dual-wield daggers (main gauche is a dagger too) you can make use of them as effective throwing weapons (a...

Example of newly added inscriptions (4.9.2)

During the work on 4.9.2, new inscription functionality was added to the game, bag-related ones mostly. Here's a quick overview of usage examples, which are from my level 46 Death Knight: Torches === As he uses a torch of immunity, he needs to refuel it with normal torches. These are inscribed: 3 Wo...

Re: Server updates

TomeNET 4.9.2 server-side changes: Fixed various artifact usage turn info (some were slightly off). More low-level monsters can already drop poison potions (for rogues). Town elder advice improvements. No more 'X' marker in player list (was indicating active extermination order). Extermination order...

Re: Client updates

TomeNET 4.9.2 client-side changes: Official addition of the first graphical tileset, thanks to Svechnik/EvgenjiK! See new guide chapter (2.5b) (or (2.7b) in newer guide) Graphical tilesets. The '=' menu now has 'g' to manage graphical tilesets, so manually editing config files is no longer needed. P...

Re: Lesser known mechanics and easter eggs

A somewhat different tip :) If you play on a server where not all dungeon locations have yet been discovered, using wilderness map pieces can be effective. These are technically scrolls, and their level is 15. Scrolls are in the 'magic' treasure class (except for golem scrolls, which are in 'junk')....

Re: server?

If you deleted an account in the account editor or by deleting the tomenet.acc file itself, you can just recreate it and when it creates a character of the same name as a still existing savegame file that character becomes re-added to that account (assumed the character didn't perma-die in-game so f...

Solid walls are also known as garbled and the problem is something different (shown).
Exactly, they must be turned off (ie the option set to "no").

Re: Golems

In theory, as golem parts belong to "Junk" treasure class, you would want to kill monsters that drop a lot of junk class items. Out of my head I'm not sure whether such monsters exist :D. See guide chapter (6.3) for treasure classes of items. You can search for monsters in-game too via ~lr...
