I've drinked from fontain of polymorf and was polymorphed to the fruit bat. Some items was removed from my body cause of it and I was lack of paralyze resistance. Seahorse appeared from the fountain and killed my helpless fruitbat body.

Anyone knows how to prevent such situations? I see only two ways:
1) do not drink from fountains (no stat gaining though)
2) have paralyze resistance at items which bat could wear (quite hard to remeber, but it seems the only way to survive it)

The only truly safe was is if you have access to the stone prison spell, other than that if you are a rogue you can cloak before drinking, even if the water causes you to become paralyzed you stay cloaked. I don't think becoming a bat will decloak you but i may be wrong, you could test it in the Training tower with a potion of Chauve-Souris.

Interesting solutions, thanks for sharing! I'm using more simple way - I go with anti-para amulet or cap as fruit bat could wear it. But at 35+ lvl there are more dangerous monsters comes from fountains and your methods are better there
