RIght now you could get into no-tele vault when you use stairs. In normal dungeons its ok (you could run to prev.lvl), but in force_down (like Moria and Erebor) - its 100% garanteed death. Player wouldn't have even slightest chance to save his life. Its not fair.

I think every situation in the game has to give at least minimal chance ho save your skin. When you have fatal situation where you helpless totally - its not right way to play. TomeNET is already ultra-hardcore game and it would stay the same even if no-tele vault in force_down dungeons wouldn't be fatal for 100% (lets it would be 99.9% at least?)

Possible solution: give possibility to use teleport due Stair-Goi (for 2-3 turns) in force_down dungeons even in no-tele vaults. So when you just "fall down" to the level, you have small chance to save your skin. It would be fair and wouldn't take much from hardcore part of the game... Cause right now I would rather pass Moria&Erebor, than go to it.. There always has to be an exit.. or a small probability of exit. All of us need some hope.

Landing in notele vault is clearly a bug in game mechanism. Same as the old "take stairs into pack of hounds that push you away and all breathe on the first turn" which causes probably 75% of all deaths in regular MAngband. The game doesn't let you land into pits, so why vaults...

If there is way back to previous level - its ok to land in no-tele vault... But in force_down dungeon its just unfair.

Right now there are two main force_down dungeons (except iddc) game:

Moria 30..50 lvl deepths
AND
Erebor 50..61 lvl deepths

It means that you could get up to 101 lvl monsters in terr no-tele force_down vault in Erebor..

It would be very nice to make this two dungeons 'normal' and give this flag to other dungeons which would have lower lvls of possible vaults, for example:

Mirkwood (11..34 lvl) - quite good and logical to have force_down there (Tolkien lore approved!)
The Maze (25..38 lvl) - also logical.. get really messed up in maze :)

There are already very many "normal" dungeons in the game. Erebor is a gold mine for mimics to grab most D forms.

they are force_down dungeons (no stairs to previous lvl) where its possible to get into terrifying no-tele vault right after you used staircase.

Its like having Fountain of Death in the game.
