One of my viewers who doesn't play roguelikes himself suggested this, quite mad but really awesome idea:
make certain monsters BIG - lets they would be like 2-4x more size. Especially bosses. How it could looks like:
What it would give?
1) fun and madness %)
2) possibility to notice something nasty very easily (hello, Ancalagon the Black!)
3) possibility to fight with monster in party in heroic way.. stay shoulder to shoulder with your friend to fight with HUGE boss..
Of course its quite advanced feature to implement and it would change a lot of stuff.. Lets discuss!
Talking about hard points.. How they would pass through doors and narrow corridors? Maybe make all _big_ monsters able to ruin walls and entrances when they move? So they could just enlarge passages while they walk through them
p.s.
Also some monsters could be longer (huge snakes?)... And other could be like this: you have to destroy 'front' side of monster and then its 'tail'
