Setting Up a Server for Windows

As the topic name may suggest, I am currently looking into creating a private server for myself and a few friends. I have downloaded the source, successfully managed to extract it, but am at a loss for how to compile and run it. If anyone could be of assistance, providing help would be greatly appreciated.

tu connect to this server you simply choose in client the Q options, and then write IP of the server. If you run server and client on the same computer you can write there localhost.

on windows 7 sp1 i get crash after launching the version 4.5.5
