Martial Arts Interception

Post by Unmouseable »

Hello, i was wondering if someone could clarify something for me.

In the skill section is the following.

Martial Arts-

In addition to that, training Martial Arts will
provide a base interception chance if you don't
have the Interception skill available on a
character (see 'Interception' skill). These two
interception gains from Martial Arts skill add
up. (If you do have the Interception skill
available, you get a base interception chance
depending on your character level instead, to
which again the Martial Arts interception bonus
gets added. So you're gaining the same total
interception chance in both cases, as long as
you keep Martial Arts at maximum possible.)

In the first description it says the following

"If you do have the Interception skill
available, you get a base interception chance
depending on your character level instead, to
which again the Martial Arts interception bonus
gets added. So you're gaining the same total
interception chance in both cases, as long as
you keep Martial Arts at maximum possible.)

This reads to me like you will have the same interception chance at character level 50, with 50 points in martial arts and zero points in interception.
as you would if you had both martial arts and interception trained to level 50.

The description in interception seems to not agree with this though, it says the following

Interception-

All characters that are able to train this
skill or that have trained Martial Arts skill
actually gain a base interception chance:
If they are able to train Interception then
that base chance will depend on their character
level. If they don't have Interception skill
available then it will depend on their Martial
Arts skill level instead (capped to their
character level).
Actually training the Interception skill will
then further add to that base chance.

I find the last line here confusing

" Actually training the Interception skill will then further add to that base chance."

In the Martial arts skill description it sounds like a max level MA user will also have maxed interception plus the MA bonus to intercept added to it, but in the interception description it is saying that training interception as well will add to the interception chance even more.

So i guess what i am asking, is there any reason to train interception on a Martial artist?

Thank you.
