TomeTik tiles for old ToME

Post by tangar »

I've accidentally found very interesting project for old ToME with beautiful tiles there:

http://pousse.rapiere.free.fr/tome/

Its from ~2004 year.

Actually its very cool art, check Library section:
http://pousse.rapiere.free.fr/tome/tome-tiles.htm

For example:

Town signs:

't' in town lol! I'm pretty sure you would understand who is who there %))

Monsters:

food and mushrooms lol:

Inventory looks cool:

There are much more, just check it out %)

I think its the best tiles which I saw. Even better then Nethack's ones.

Also there is a source code ( http://pousse.rapiere.free.fr/tome/tome-program.htm ) and instruction how to compile them. I wonder, would it possible to use it for TomeNET one day? :)

It could be hard to 'read' the game with so much different monsters though.. For turn-based roguelikes its ok, but in TomeNET it could be a bit a bit difficult to get use to it.

p.s.
I saved all files from website, just in case... It wasn't updated from 2004, so it would be pity if such _great_ art would dissapear :)

This is the David Gervais tileset. This has been included ages ago in Angband. Just download the latest Angband binaries, go to the /lib folder and check \lib\tiles\gervais\32x32.png for the full tileset and \lib\tiles\gervais\graf-dvg.prf for the mappings.
