You mean this?

Image

1) its unreadable. First time when I came to the TomeNet website (it was a year ago) I wasn't be able to understand what is it. Now I get used to it, but it still not understandable for newcommers.
2) its not logo actually. There is no idea in it, just text
3) its not transparent
4) it exist only in 48x48 size
5) there is no vector format for it, so its impossible to resize it to use in any projects (videos preview pictures for example)
...I could continue if you wish  But most important thing - its just not cool :) TomeNet is great game and it has to have good style.

I think a lot of old players get used to old "logo" and kinda like it, cause they have it before their eyes for years.. BUT... New logo is much better :)

Game changed a lot for a years and rebranding would be nice to have. Also a lot of players associate TomeNet as just multiplayer version of T.O.M.E., what is incorrect. New logo emphasize TomeNet individuality.

Still, its up to developers to use new logo or not. Yaroslav made it for free, just as a humble contribution to the project. If it would be accepted - its nice. If not - ok, then it would wait for its time :)

the first what come in my mind when i see this red/black logo is Tetris written in .net framework and others games from this little "brick console" http://img9.uploadhouse.com/uploads/15534BRICK_GAME.jpg

Sorry but this design looks a lot like bricks, and i don't see any bricks in game, only octothorpe. And between rooms you have corridors, which i don't see in this design...

i see a little star some Bluesteel Blade and text in current

Vector logos, are not perfect, ok you can easily resize for bigger size, but most of them don't looks well in smaller sizes, because details become to little.
Why do you need transparency under the rectangle or square?

Why in black logo, there are some red lines over/under squares?

We all different and have different taste, its ok :)

But facts is like I said in my last message... Current logo is impossible to use anywhere except small icon at this website. I cant use it as video preview or as illustration in article. I cant create banner from it. I cant print it at my T-shirt or mug. Its not useble anywhere. And its big problem. If someone could make vector or at least big sized version of current logo with transparency - it would be ok. But right now we could certantly say that TomeNet doesn't have any logo at all, its just small icon. No offence, its nice icon :) But we cant use it anywhere, and its not nice.

p.s.
Vector could be anything. Small details or big onces. No difference. Its just way to store image information in a file.

try to export red/black icon to size 32x32 or even to 48x48. It's start to loosing this two colors border. It's start to "merging" into one color. The squeres don't look good either Resizing vectors to smaller size is not perfect, you start to loose some details even with such simple logo.

The logo should be even simpler or should be two similar logos, one make for smaller sizes, and other with more details for larger.

And i still don't know why you need transparency under the rectangle...

We are talking about logos, not about icons. Its quite different things. But even icon looks ok.

And also, as you said, we could create icon-variant for this logo, its possible.

Black rectangle isn't good in a lot of cases. Try to create good looking illustration with it, you would see :P When you have transparency - logo could be used at any background.

Anyway, as I said before, TomeNet doesn't have much alternatives right now. But of course it would be great to see more variants of logos if someone would draw it :)
