Last experiment.

The same TomeTik font but with the space filled in around the outline and then the images inverted.

You can see that while some of the images needed an outline and have been lost completely, other images look just as good or better.

Please notice, that project is in ALPHA version! Use it at your own risk!

What next:
1) testing
2) drawing powerful non-boss monsters. they would be based at glyphs. please check Kim's font for an idea how it would look like.
3) if we would have extra tiles - make more different bosses and terrain
4) redrawing and polishing tiles
5) make several variants of font - 16x24, 12x18, 10x17 & etc
6) make font port for linux & mac
7) add your suggestions... :)

For now I think we _especially_ need to consider more variants for such bosses:

living lightning
hydra (redraw)
dragon
dragonrider (!)
cat
ghost
dwarf
elf
jelly/mold
medusa
mage (redraw)
morgoth (redraw)
big Q (redraw)
dinosaur
imp (I took ones from Lightman last contribution, its not bad, but we need to make it move devilous)
demon (!)
succusub (redraw, make it more sexy)
vampire (redraw... or maybe replace?)
nazgul (!)
yeti (redraw?)
hand

Its what we especially need. But actually it would be the best to have a lot of different variants of each monster to choose the best.

Also we need to make more variant of terrains: mountains, walls, doors, fountains... Also trees&bushes - now we using made by Kim; they looks very good, but maybe its possible to create something better? We need more variants of everything, so we could test which is better for 'reading' the game :)

Hi,

Actually, I think that list is pretty good. How many spare characters can we still draw? How are you going to use the remaining ones?

I apologise that in real life things have caught up with me and I have stopped drawing for a bit. Maybe I will again soon.

Your mountains glyph looks a bit like a headless angel. Maybe give it a tweak?

atm all glyphs which was empty - used for powerful monsters (53/53)

considering mountains and everything else - I said before:

we need to redraw a lot of stuff. you are welcome to draw better mountains and if it would be good, it would be sure included to the project :) but actually current mountains isn't so bad. more crucial thing is to remake bosses, which I mentioned there http://www.tomenet.eu/phpBB3/viewtopic. ... 1149#p3583

Hi,

I shrank down the 21X31TG.FON above for use with laptops (and called it 16X24TG.FON). Some of the monsters need a bit of paintwork, but apart from that it works great.

Because the monsters need work, it is a bit of a proof of concept rather than a proper version.
