sort of related: TomeNET & ToME2

Post by darwin »

This is sort of related, so (administrators) feel free to move it somewhere else, re-title it (and delete this sentence.) I'm just wondering if there's any chance of the ToME2 fork/variant and TomeNET developers ever working together to improve both games. ToME2 is being continued by AnonymousHero (tome-ah, on Github.com) and AmyBSOD (ToME-SX on Github) and is discussed on ToME4 forums (te4.org) where tome-ah is the fork discussed in pinned ToME2 maintenance thread as if tome-ah is official. Also Scott Bigham made some patches. Why not link to those patches/forks if you're linking to ToME4? I think ToME1 & 2 (including TomeNET variant) is the best roguelike ever, continuing with classic D&D through finally AD&D 2nd ed. ideas as started (after Rogue) in Moria and Angband... but I don't like ToME4, as it's more based on dumbed-down corporatized ‘D&D’ I disliked... I don't see why ToME4 is that relevant to this site... not really even the same game/world.

I suppose it's because TomeNET was originally created by DarkGod and ToME 4 is his personal 'next step' project.. So TomeNET devs gives respect to DarkGod in this way. Goal there not to give links at best roguelikes (plenty of websites doing that), but to give a credit.
