Nice vlog! It's always nice to get praise from the players too. :)

Re: Music pack -> mp3 speed problem

Sounds like this could be a sample rate issue. The client assumes that the sampling rate for all audio files is 44.1 kHz.

New address for mikaelh's TomeNET site

MBnet has migrated to a new platform. Unfortunately, it still has some issues and my old website doesn't work currently. Therefore, I have uploaded my TomeNET site to a different server:

Re: Guide bugs?

I think you are correct. I fixed the guide in our Git repo. It should appear on the website whenever C. Blue gets around to updating the guide. Thanks for spotting the issue.

Re: Using the admin console?

The admin commands are not really properly documented anywhere. One issue is that there's actually a lot of them. If you make an admin character, you will receive a Handbook of Dungeon Keeping. This is actually a spell book with multiple spells inside. You can use the command 'b' to browse it. If yo...

Re: Steam Greenlight

TomeNET has always been a bit of a niche game, that is, it's not aimed at the mass-markets. I think many people actually prefer it that way. I don't know much about Steam's Greenlight but it seems like a system where you would need to appeal to the mass-markets. Therefore, I think we wouldn't be ver...

Re: Website ideas

Use the address 'europe.tomenet.eu' when connecting using Mumble. There's more information in the guide: http://www.tomenet.eu/guide.php?chapter=2.4

Re: Website ideas

Well, here are my comments regarding your ideas. I'm probably not going to bother adding the main site menu to the forums. The forum and the main site don't really share the same look, so I think it's nice to keep them separate. A ladder system sounds interesting. We noticed there are more than 2000...

Re: OSX Server Crash on startup (fresh install)

Alright, here's our patch for this issue: http://koti.mbnet.fi/mikaelh/tomenet/downloads/tomenet-max_k_idx-crash-fix.patch To apply the patch automatically, you can run something like "patch -p1 < tomenet-max_k_idx-crash-fix.patch". Or you can wait for the next release which will include t...

Re: OSX Server Crash on startup (fresh install)

This appears to be a bug in our code. The problem is that we have too many items defined in k_info.txt compared to the value of MAX_K_IDX. This causes the array k_info_num[] to overflow which can overwrite the pointer k_text. That's what seems to have happened in your case. We're working on a fix. U...
