What "teleport" means did you use? If it was a device, unless it has been fixed, they don't respond when you are in melee range. If it was a spell, I noticed that you were "stunned" (probably from morgy quake), so this raises the %fail. If it was a scroll, then it's clearly a bug.

It's the race you choose: vampire for death knight, maia for hell knight (and you need to take the "corrupted" route).

Usually it's simply the autoretaliator using up your turns... or the monsters being faster than your character, so the commands you issue come up too late. Killing Sauron has become a pure question of DPS. If you don't do a lot of damage fast, he's gonna spam Heal Self/Teleport Self/Teleport Other and you won't be able to kill him period. Maia holy/unholy spells don't seem to be correctly handled. For example, a shaman starts with a base Shadow skill of 0.900, which for neutral Maia is multiplied by 0.7 (0.630). When the character reaches level 20 and becomes corrupted, a 2.1x factor is applied to the starting skill: 0.630 x 2.1 = 1....

With the latest changes, an Enlightened Maia Holy Shaman build works very well. Preferred immunity is broken in the latest release. I tried to investigate at which moment it happens, but couldn't find a reason. This is the David Gervais tileset. This has been included ages ago in Angband. Just download the latest Angband binaries, go to the /lib folder and check \lib\tiles\gervais\32x32.png for the full tileset and \lib\tiles\gervais\graf-dvg.prf for the mappings.
