Well, this change would certainly make it easier to avoid detected traps, but I do see another problem it would cause. If detected traps were always visible, that would hide the items. This makes it harder to find items especially if you detect a trap on a grid before you actually see what's on the ...

I like the Fire glyph spell idea but the Tread lightly spell seems a bit overpowered. Having invisibility at level 20 is probably too early.

We are planning to revise the spell system quite a bit at some point, so thanks for your ideas.

Well, I don't have any brilliant ideas left. According to the server output, it should be working.

You could try to check that evilmeta is actually running. Also, if there's a strict firewall in place, that might be the cause. The evilmeta client is trying to connect to port 8800.

You should set BIND_NAME in tomenet.cfg to the name of the server.

I'm guessing your problem may be that evilmeta is missing. You need to compile evilmeta and move it to the directory where you run tomenet.server.

If that doesn't work, please post the output of the server after you start it.

Unmagic has no effect anymore when a player is invulnerable (GoI). This prevents stair-GoI from being canceled by unmagic mushrooms etc.

Just create a new account. Only the first account created on a server will be an admin by default.

Version 4.4.4c is coming out soon and it will fix the temporary file issue so you could also wait for that.
