I like the idea of spell scrolls being needed for spellcasting, but I do wish that you could cast lower level spells from a high-level scroll. IE, you only have Manathrust III but you can still cast Manathrust I or Manathrust II.

I was looking through some of the /lib/game files (especially the object-kind file, k-info), and there's a ton of items that seem to be disabled. While messing around with the code to try and fix it myself I did find a workaround for that particular problem, but I redownloaded the source and tried your fix instead. Both ways ended up leading to this error:

I'm trying to compile the source (4.7.1a) on windows using CygWin and I'm getting this error, anyone got any idea how I can fix this? I'd really prefer to not set up a linux environment to tinker with the code.

[Idea] New Class: Alchemist
Basically a class that specializes in making potions from various ingredients (maybe mushrooms?) and throwing them at allies or enemies. I think it'd be different enough from the current classes to be pretty interesting, especially because it would be a sort of non-magical buff support.

I think you're really making it out to be harder than it is. I pretty much exclusively play Istar, and managing spell scrolls isn't hard at all. It's only very slightly a pain to remake codices if I lose one when I die, but I spend a pretty decent amount of money making sure I have backups of every ...

Not knowing what level spells are at each tier is somewhat fixed as of 4.7.1a. Levels required for every tier of every spell are now listed in the guide.

Dungeon Stores?
Are there any stores that can show up in standard dungeons besides "5" (the mushroom store)? The server config seems to imply that there are, but I've never seen one.
